We asked LA based celebrity makeup artist and stylist Glenn Nutley which celebrity looks caught his eye during 2009. Some of his top picks may surprise you…

1. Kate Moss at the MET Costume Gala: rocking the turban with the most amazing drawn out eyes… simply amazing eye make-up!

2. Beyoncé at the MTV VMA awards performing ‘Single Ladies’ with a gorgeous shimmering silver smokey eye, and hair for days that she knew how to throw around!

3. Hayden Panettiere at the Golden Globe Awards, with a beautiful Jessica Rabbit-style Hollywood wave and a light smokey eye. A beautiful classic look.

4. Olivia Wilde’s classic and simple ponytail at the People’s Choice awards.

5. Megan Fox’s half sleek half wave at the MTV Movie Awards. HOT!

6. Rihanna’s edgy undercut at the MET Costume Gala.

7. Jennifer Aniston’s braided hairline. I think we have to mention it. It was a very simple look for the Oscars, but I have seen it copied so many times so she definitely started a trend and I like it a lot!

8. Nicole Kidman’s pinned up bob at the Oscars. This is a favourite look of mine, which I give to many of my clients.

9. Penelope Cruz at the Oscars. BEAUTIFUL classic up do! With a really cute fringe. Complimented with lots of lashes and rimmed eyes… stunning.

10. Adam Lambert at the MTV VMA awards. I don’t care what anyone says. I think he looked hot… He’s one of the very few guys who can rock a smokey eye and pull it off, but he does it well!!
