We loved Glenn’s expert feedback on the SAG Awards so much, we asked him to review the hair and make-up at the Grammys. Here, he describes his 6 standout looks, complete with photos.

The Grammy Awards is my favourite event of the year for beauty as an art form, although the Academy Awards, Golden Globes and SAG awards are the pinnacle of all things glamorous, the Grammys are cool. And this is the event where creativity is appreciated and looks can be pushed with a fashion forward edge.

This year, we saw the use of glitter, diamantes and strong smokey eyes. Some of my favourite looks of the night include:

1. Jennifer Lopez’s hair and make-up had to be one of the highlights of the entire evening. Over-the-top glamour! It might not be a look you want to try every day, but this cross between a dark smokey eye and glitter was a showstopper.

2. Beyoncé’s performance make-up was really cool. I loved the not blended, defined dark eye. It was very fashion forward, and paired with simple straight blow dry, which was a nice change to the usual Hollywood wave that we’re all getting a little tired of.

3. Miley Cyrus’ hair. She had a beautiful and very age appropriate tussled wave through her hair. And super long, most aided by some hair extensions, the “hair for days” was reminiscent of a Greek goddess, complimented by a light shimmering bronze smokey eye.

4. Jennifer Hudson looked the best I feel that we have seen of her to date. She had a sleek, tight, high ponytail and wide blunt fringe, which drew attention to her beautiful shimmering eyes.

5. I did like Lady Gaga’s last look, makeup wise… the blackest of black eye with black glitter over the top! Probably best to keep this for magazine editorials, the stage, or the runway. However, I thought it was really cool and well done - she is one of the few women who could pull this one off.

6. Rihanna’s eyes were gorgeous. Shimmering silver glitter and lots of lashes. The Grammys is one of the few events where you can wear a full eye of glitter so it’s great to see that some people are going there. And she also managed to give her edgy under cut hairstyle a glamorous twist. (See top of article for image).
