Diane Von Furstenberg - recently named by Forbes as the most powerful woman in fashion - presented her Spring 2013 collection ‘Palazzo’ for 250 VIPs at Westfield Sydney last night.

The inspiration:

"With the polish of a princess and the heart of a gypsy, she fantasises about a life less structured, about sunsets seen and deserts in the distance”.

Commenting on her new collection the renowned international designer says: “It (Palazzo) really is so much about me when I was a young princess…A rebel princess”.

It’s clear this amazing collection is close to Furstenberg’s heart as it magically shares the story of her early life inspiration, deepest desires and curiosity, leading to her glorious break out from royal confinements through fashion and travel.

The Details:

As a result, the glamorous collection paid tribute to exotic destinations India, Morocco and Capri in a mix of acid brights and Mediterranean hues that made everyone smile.

Our top 3 favourite looks from the collection were:

1. Bright kiwi silk jumpsuit

2. Lagoon pants in blue shantung

3. Navy crepe all over pearl jacket

The accessories were also smoking hot featuring sky-high shoes with metal baubles and studs.

Stand out trends were bright neons, colourful silk flowing silhouettes, sophisticated white on white and glamourous sparkling unstructured dresses.

Australian model Jess Gomes, opened and closed the show looking every inch the international jet setter.

The runway makeup look was created by MAC Cosmetics and hair by Redken.
