2012 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Trends
24th OF September 2012
Want to know what the biggest trends all the stars are embracing right now?
Rescu brings you all the stylish details from the red carpet at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards.
Maroon is the new black
Usually a colour reserved for winter, maroon was surprisingly all over the red carpet at today’s Primetime Emmy Awards.
Our favourite maroon look was Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who has taken home the award for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Veep.
Colour Blocking brighter than ever
On the other end of the spectrum, pops of block colour were also trending on the red carpet, from Maria Menounos in royal blue to Padma Lakshmi in bright orange.
But Julie Bowen, who won the Comedy Best Supporting Actress for her role as Claire in Modern Family, was by far the epitome of summer colour blocking in her bold neon lime gown.
Glitz and Glamour
Sequin and jewelled detailed dresses are always present on the red carpet.
Modern Family's Sofia Vergara, certainly stole the show flaunting a sexy mermaid vibe in her glitzy Zuhair Murad gown.
The newly engaged actress’ dazzling outfit featured both front and back cut-outs.
Actress Lucy Liu also donned a mirrored silver sequin Versace Gown.
Old Hollywood Glamour
Ginnifer Goodwin chose an Emmy outfit which had a 1950’s vintage feel as she wore a detailed orange and champagne Monique Lhuillier dress synched in at the waist.
Mad Men star Christina Hendricks also embraced this classic trend.
Mustard
Who said pregnancy was frumpy? Claire Danes, who won Best Actress for her role in Homeland, looked magnificent in a mustard Jeanne Lanvin creation.
Actress Julianne Moore, who was awarded Best Actress in a mini series for her lead role in HBO's Game Change, also looked amazing in her long-sleeved mustard Dior gown.
