The Best Fashion Apps

7th OF September 2012

Remember the scene in Clueless where Cher uses a digital version of her wardrobe to pick her outfit for school each morning? Well, unfortunately no one has invented that just yet but with these incredible fashion apps for wardrobe organising, inspiring, and showing off, we’re coming pretty close!

Netrobe

Netrobe allows you to take photos of everything you own, and store them in different categories including dresses, tops, and beachwear. The Styleboard tab allows you to create outfits from your own wardrobe which are then storeable and shareable. You can also use this one to get style inspiration from friend’s outfits.
RESCU Loves: The packing list feature in this app is a life saver for frequent fliers. You can save the lists for your favourite destinations (summer in Paris, anyone?) and email them to yourself for future reference.
Cost: Free

Pose

A bevy of big fashion bloggers (think Man Repeller and Elle Fowler ) have dipped their Jeffrey Campbell – clad toes in this clever little app, making it one of the best sources of outfit inspiration in the app world. Like most good things, Pose is simple. All you do is take a snap of your outfit and post it on Pose. Then follow your favourites for insta-inspiration.
RESCU Loves: Stylist powerhouse Rachel Zoe is an investor in this photo share app and she regularly posts pics of her own outfits. We die.
Cost: Free

Go Try It On

Want honest advice? Don’t ask your loyal, loving friends – head to Go Try It On and upload a shot of yourself in an outfit with a description of the brands you're wearing and where you'll be wearing it for advice from the app’s fashion-conscious community.
RESCU Loves: New features like instagram-esque filters, collage builder, and timer (so you can get your pose just right) have made this app a must-have.
Cost: Free

ChicFeed

If The Satorialist and Jak and Jill are permanently loaded in your browser, ChicFeed is for you. Curating all the latest and great shots from the street, this simple app will kill hours of otherwise useless public transport time.
RESCU Loves: Simple and smooth, this is street style inspiration without any annoying bells and whistles.
Cost: Free

Speak Chic

Struggling to pronounce ‘Proenza Scholer’ but don’t want to look the fool in front of fashion-savvy friends? Speak Chic will be your new BFF. This clever little app not only shows you how to say all those tricky fashion words with phonetic spelling but also says them aloud.
RESCU Loves: In addition to the pronunciation guide, Speak Chic gives a little bit of history on major brands so you’ll be like a walking fashion encyclopaedia in the time it takes you to say ‘Giuseppe Zanotti’.
Cost: $1.99
