By Charlotte Goodwin, Money Maven
Get the drop-dead gorgeous style of the celebs at the Golden Globes without needing the paycheck of Hollywood's elite. RESCU has scoured the online stores to bring you all the hottest prices and every outfit costs under $200 (including shoes and accessories). Also, RESCU brings you step-by-step tutorials on how to get red carpet ready hair without even spending a cent!
Sexy Siren: Emma Stone
Get this gorgeous maroon Lavnin look with this equally traffic-stopping, bedazzled maxi dress from Ally Fashion ($29.99). Pair it with a satin bow clutch from EQUIP ($24.99) and a pair of glitzy black heels from Sheriton Shoes ($30.00) and you’ll be feeling ready to hit the town, with a stunning outfit that looks a million bucks but will only cost you $85.00!
As the Revlon Ambassador, Emma’s flawless Golden Globes make-up was styled using Revlon products that you too can use, including: PhotoReady Perfecting Primer (RRP: $29.95) and Airbrush Mousse Makeup (RRP: $34.95) and Colourstay Eyeshadow Quad Palette in Sultry Smoke (RRP: $25.95) to get that sultry pale-skin / smoky eye combo. You can find these Revlon products at department stores and selected pharmacies.
Emma also revealed that her number one personal beauty tip is using ‘grape seed oil’ as a moisturiser, and one litre will cost you under $9 from your local supermarket!
To get Emma’s relaxed low bun without stepping outside your house or spending a single dollar, RESCU suggests washing your locks and securing your wet hair in a braid. Keep your hair braided until dry and then release for natural looking waves. Pull the lengths of your hair back in small sections securing into a low-bun and allowing your fringe and shorter front layers of hair to fall loosely around your face. Voila!
Canary Cute: Maria Menonous
Maria rocked this gorgeous canary yellow sequin number on the red carpet. You can get this gorgeous color in a short, summer peplum style from ASOS ($79.48). Beautiful and budget-wise! Pair this statement dress with understated Colette silver cuff bracelet ($8.95), studs ($7.95) and ring ($5.95). This dress must be worn with sky-high platforms (at bargain price of course) like these wedge stunners from NOVO ($50.00). This five-piece budget ensemble will only cost you $152.33.
To get your hot little hands on Maria’s beehive style updo, backcomb your lengths with a comb (use your brush or fingers if you have thicker hair). Take the very top section of your hair (just behind your fringe) and backcomb a second time. Pile up the bottom layers onto the crown of your head, teasing as you go to provide more volume and secure in a twisted knot as high up on your head as you can manage. Use the top section you set aside to cover the knot, teasing this section backwards, and securing until the bun. If you have a side or straight fringe, brush the longer sections of your fringe to the side and up into your beehive. Make sure you secure any flyaway and smooth out any hair that come out of place in the beehive. If you are hitting the town, spritz with a light hold spray.
Aztec Angel: Salma Hayek
Salma’s unique dress with embellished bodice may seem like a difficult style to recreate on a budget, but RESCU has the solution! You could pair a black maxi skirt with a metallic corset style top or perhaps even try this stunning jewel-encrusted bandeau dress from ASOS ($36.49). Pair with sky-high patent heels from Rubi Shoes ($39.95) and some sparkly chandelier earrings from Diva ($19.95). This perfect combo will only set you back $94.61!
You can get Salma’s curly tresses in three easy steps without spending a cent. Comb out all of the tangles in your hair and spritz the lengths with water. Take up the top (crown) section of your hair and starting with the ends wrap your hair around a sock or handkerchief. Once you have rolled your hair down to the roots, take the ends of the sock and tie them together securely. Repeat this step twice more with the two base sections of your hair. Leave these ties in for at least 8 hours (or sleep on them!) and then remove for bouncy curls.
