Love may be just a phone call away, according to a new love survey
13th OF April 2010
You can find lasting love using the internet or telephone dating, according to a new nationwide survey. RESCU investigates…
Looking for Mr or Ms Right
Proving that phone and internet dating isn’t simply about sex and casual hook-ups, 36% were looking for a serious relationship and 16% were looking for their future wife/husband.
Also, 43% of people who had tried phone or internet dating had started a relationship with someone they’d met and more than 45% of these relationships lasted for over 12 months.
Kindness is key!
Respondents also revealed their sentimental side, with over 30% rating kindness as the number one trait they want in a partner. This far out ranked the rest of the list, which included sex appeal, wealth, similar goals and a good sense of humour. Interesting!
Technology takes away some of the stress
Finding love via the phone or Internet is also “less stressful”, according to a whopping 45% of those surveyed.
Dating expert Bridget Holland, the General Manager of TeleCafe, said: “It’s great to see open minded attitudes towards using technology to meet new people – technology has become an integral factor in every other area of our life so why not dating! Importantly, meeting people over the phone or internet allows honesty from the outset via introductions or profiles – helping to avoid disappointment or confusion.”
