The Spring Races are here and when we think of it, we think of pretty floral dresses and fascinators. Often you are so busy completing your look for the day that you forget to trial how you are going to wear your headpiece and how to do your hair.
George Giavis, award winning celebrity hair stylist and expert shares the three key tips for your spring racing hair.
Plan:
Play around with your headpiece wearing your outfit in front of the mirror and plan where to place it. Use this time to work out the best look, your head shape and what hairstyle it will work with.
Preparation:
When styling you hair, add volumising mousse to your hair prior to blow drying and styling it. Be sure to have extra body so the hair piece stays in place.
Note: Styling aids ensure extra hold.
Placement:
To ensure your hair piece stays in place and has extra hold, add hair spray on the comb or clip.
Experiment with placement, if the weight of the hair piece falls to the right of your head, experiment with a side pony on the left hand side to give the look some balance.
A wide brimmed hat requires a simple style, let the hat make the statement. Your hair should be the support act. A low chignon, pony or sleek blow out will work best.
The general rule of thumb is the more elaborate the head piece the more simple the hair style. They must work together to compliment the overall look.
