Book of the Week: Destined to Play by Indigo Bloome
12th OF September 2012
50 Shades of Grey has created a movement of women captivated by erotic fiction and unashamed to say it. But when they have finished the trilogy, what next?
Well… more erotic fiction! Since 50 Shades exploded onto the book market, several other saucy books have been released and one of the most popular is Destined to Play, Part 1 of a brand new trilogy from Indigo Bloome. Interestingly enough, this is a debut novel from an Australian author.
There are some clear similarities to 50 Shades present yet the heroine is quite different. Dr Alexandra Burke is a much more worldly character. We meet her when she is due to give a series of important lectures to colleagues, yet what’s planned for afterward is truly making her nervous. Alexandra is meeting up with Jeremy, a dangerous and seductive ex-lover.
Jeremy ‘presents her with an intriguing offer: stay with him for the next forty-eight hours and accept two extraordinary conditions, the first of which leaves her utterly at his mercy, and he will give her an experience more sensual and extreme than any game they have ever played before’.
From there Alexandra and the reader are drawn into Jeremy’s unusual world of lust and experimentation, and the loss of control may be too much for Alexandra to bear.
In Destined to Play you get exactly what you pay for: a mysterious and handsome man, plenty of wild sex and a heroine unsure exactly how far she is willing to go. Those who thoroughly enjoyed 50 Shades will get plenty from this book and the upcoming second and third volumes.
About the author: Indigo Bloome is married with two children. She has lived and worked in Sydney and the United Kingdom, with a successful career in the finance industry. Indigo recently traded city life with a move to regional Australia, which provided her with an opportunity to explore her previously undiscovered creative side. Her love of reading, deciphering dreams, stimulating conversation and the intrigue of the human mind led her to writing her first novel, Destined to Play.
